Why a new name
What began with a clear focus on app development now goes well beyond it: we support businesses with process optimisation, develop custom business software, connect ERP systems through interfaces, automate workflows and advise on the use of AI.
The name App Ahoi no longer fitted that range. So the company is now called Asertion, and App Ahoi GmbH becomes Asertion GmbH.
What we do fits in three sentences: Understand processes. Develop software. Connect systems.
What changes and what stays the same
In short: only the name.
What is new
- The name: App Ahoi becomes Asertion, and App Ahoi GmbH becomes Asertion GmbH.
- The website: www.asertion.de. The old address app-ahoi.com redirects to the matching page.
- Email: you can reach us at @asertion.de. The previous addresses stay active and are forwarded automatically.
What stays
- Your contact: Tobias Kietzmann remains Managing Director and your personal contact, and the team is the same.
- Current projects and contracts: every agreement continues unchanged.
- Commercial register number HRB 183253 (Amtsgericht Hamburg), VAT identification number, bank details and address: Erik-Blumenfeld-Platz 27, 22587 Hamburg.
Until the change of name is entered in the commercial register, the company legally continues to trade as App Ahoi GmbH. That is why the legal notice still shows that name.
Where the name comes from
Asertion derives from “assertion”, a term from software development. An assertion checks whether an expected condition in a program is actually met - and speaks up if it is not.
That sums up our standard: we do not just develop software, we build solutions that work reliably, improve your workflows noticeably and do exactly what they are meant to do.
Asertion is pronounced the German way: “Ah-sehr-ti-on”.
